Troubleshooting
Solutions to the most common issues server owners and staff encounter.
Ticket issues
Slash commands aren't showing up
Discord can take up to 1 hour to propagate slash commands globally. If /ticket doesn't appear, wait a few minutes then try typing / and clicking the TicketByte bot icon.
"The ticket system has not been configured"
A ticket category hasn't been set. An admin needs to run:
/setup category:#ticket-category logs:#ticket-logs support_role:@Support
Ticket channels aren't being created
- Make sure a Ticket Category is set in Dashboard → Channels
- Make sure TicketByte has Manage Channels permission in that category
- Your server hasn't hit Discord's 500-channel limit
"You already have N open ticket(s)"
You've hit the Max Tickets Per User limit. Close existing tickets first, or ask an admin to raise the limit in Dashboard → General.
"You are blacklisted"
Your user ID or one of your roles is in the server blacklist. Contact a server admin if you believe this is incorrect.
Claim issues
I can't claim the ticket
You need at least one of the configured Support Roles or Manage Server permission. Ask an admin to add you to a support role.
Opener still can't chat after I claimed it
Run /unclaim then /claim again to force the permission update. Or check the opener's channel permissions directly (right-click channel → Edit Channel → Permissions).
Dashboard issues
Can't log in
- Make sure you accept the Terms of Service checkbox (it is required)
- Make sure your browser allows cookies for the dashboard domain
- Try a private/incognito window
My server doesn't appear
- Click Refresh List on the server list page
- Make sure you have Manage Server or Administrator permission in that server
- Make sure TicketByte is actually in the server
- Log out and back in to force a fresh sync
Analytics cards show N/A
The live Discord stats couldn't be fetched. Common causes:
- TicketByte was removed from the server
- Temporary Discord API outage — check discordstatus.com
Click Refresh to retry.
Channels/roles aren't showing in dropdowns
Refresh the page. If still empty, make sure TicketByte has View Channels permission in your server.
Still stuck?
Join the TicketByte Support Server and open a ticket with: what you were doing, the exact error message, and a screenshot if possible.
